Prayer Series

This is a great example of what you can do using foam board, a hot knife, and some paint!

For this project we used 2” thick foam board from Lowes. One of our volunteers used a straight edge and sharpie to draw out these letters and then cut them out using a hot knife.  Once that was done we added some paint.

Quick note: if you don’t know this already, never use spray paint on foam board. It will cause the styrofoam to melt and completely ruin your project. There is spray paint that is made to not effect styrofoam, but it can be pretty pricy. So we usually go with regular paint.

For this prayer series, we used the word prayer as an acronym for the topics of each week. Presence, Reason, Attitude, You and God, Everyone else, and Risk. This gave us a great visual way to review each week. We held up the letter from each week and ask the kids what word the letter stood for in our series.

We also ventured out and made our own videos for this series. The quality wasn’t very good but it was a ton of fun and especially fun for the kids to see their leaders in the videos! Here is some of what we came up with.

Hope this gave you some good ideas on how you can be creative in your kids ministry!
