What is a way to make giving offering fun in kids church? This is the question that we asked coming out of the busy summer.
After talking to some people we heard about a great idea for an offering monster. A vacuum disguised as a monster that sucks up small porcupine balls that the offering money is exchanged for.
We found a costume hat at Samsclub that fit over the top of the a small vacuum perfectly. We used a green furry blanket we had lying around to cover the bottom of the vacuum and the hose.
We bought some porcupine balls from Oriental Trading and our offering monster was ready to go!
We called it “Berniece on a Mission.” Every penny the kids give goes to a mission of the month. This month is was for our missionaries in the Philippines.
We made a quick intro video to introduce Berniece to the kids using a simple iMovie template.
Suddenly all our kids wanted to give towards Berniece’s mission!
